East Cooper Medical Center offers free community health talks

East Cooper Medical Center is offering free health talks throughout the summer starting on Tuesday, June 25 at 6 p.m. The topics range from keeping your family safe this summer to the future of healthcare. East Cooper Medical Center is pleased to offer these free health talks to the local community. It gives residents the opportunity to visit the facility and learn up-to-date healthcare information.

Health Talks are scheduled for the months of June, July, and August. To register for these free events, please call (843) 884-7031 or visit www.eastcoopermedctr.com and click “Find an Event.” Each talk will meet in the Main Lobby of East Cooper Medical Center located at 2000 Hospital Drive, Mount Pleasant. Refreshments will be served.

Tuesday, June 25 at 6 p.m.

Summer Safety

Theresa Lynn, Director of Emergency Services, East Cooper Medical Center

Learn up-to-date first-aid treatment, injury prevention, and find out when to seek medical attention. Minutes count in these emergencies and treatment options change. Make sure your family is prepared this summer. Topics to include: water safety, bike safety, sun exposure, snake bites, insect and jellyfish stings.

Thursday, July 11 at 6 p.m.

Straight Talk: Men’s Health

Kelly Shaffer, MD, Urology

Join hospital staff for an educational event designed to highlight new information on the causes, diagnosis and treatment options available for the common men’s health conditions of erectile dysfunction and male urinary incontinence.

Tuesday, July 30 at 6 p.m.

Discussing the Future of Healthcare

Meet the chief executive officer of a community hospital while having an open discussion about healthcare and what it means for your family. Enjoy refreshments in a comfortable setting while getting to know the hospital in your own backyard.
