Coastal Living, a national magazine that celebrates life along the coast, opened its 2013 Showhouse on Friday, June 28 on Daniel Island in Charleston, one of the world’s top travel destinations. The annual home design project draws visitors from across the nation to see the latest in coastal home innovation, decor and construction.
“Daniel Island is the perfect location for the pages of Coastal Living to come to life as they do in the 2013 Showhouse,” said Antonia van der Meer, editor-in-chief of Coastal Living.
The newly constructed home was designed to take advantage of the spectacular views of the Wando River. The house’s exterior incorporates elements from the Greek Revival style as well as those found in Caribbean and casual coastal architecture. The result is an exciting yet recognizable new design. The interior boasts bright colors and a modern, classic vibe.
The design team includes Builder Jamison Howard of Max G. Crosby Construction Co.; Interior Designer Ginger Brewton of Ginger Brewton Interiors; Our Town Plans, provider of the architectural design; and Jeff Elliott of the Daniel Island Company, provider of the landscape architecture design.
Sponsors include AZEK Building Products, Belgard Hardscapes, Bevolo Gas & Electric Lights, Circa Lighting, Colonial Candle, Laura Ashley, LEE Industries, Lloyd/Flanders, Marvin Windows & Doors, Metal Roofing Alliance/Fabral, Moen, Permex Products and Sunbrella.

The 4,000-acre Lowcountry island community boasts nationally ranked golf courses, a vibrant town center and 23 miles of rivers and creeks, making it an ideal coastal setting for residents to live, work, and play.
