Need a ride

  • Friday, July 5, 2013

Some concerned citizens called police because a strange man approached them at the gas station and offered them beer for a ride home. When police arrived they found the man sitting against a pole with a large cooler in his possession. This 41 year old man explained to police that he had been at a local bar drinking. He met some guys and hung out.

They drove him to a grocery store to get beer and offered him the opportunity to sleep on their couch if he needed a place. He went with them to their home on the north end of town and began to feel uneasy. He said he felt like they may take his beer so he declined the offer to stay and pulled his cooler with him and started walking home.

He told police he had no cell phone or money to call his parents (with whom he lived) to come pick him up.

He said he offered the citizens some beer for a ride because he was tired of walking.

Police called his dad for him who came and picked him up.
