Police got a call about a man passed out at the wheel of his car in the middle of a traffic lane.
A witness, who happens to be a nurse stopped to help.
She told police she could smell alcohol so she reached in and turned off the vehicle. She said the driver was in and out of consciousness and was not able to answer any of her questions so she reported the incident.
The driver was still sitting in his car and was unable to unbuckle his seat belt. He was laughing while police tried to ask him questions the incident report said.
The man admitted to drinking alcohol before driving and had slurred speech, the report said. He was finally able to unbuckle his seat belt. When asked again if he had been drinking he said, “yes I have. I drank a bunch of alcohol.”
When the officer was explaining the ABC test, the man lost his balance and fell backwards.
. He was helped back to his feet and asked if he was able to stand on his own. He said he could and again explained the test. He cold not complete it.
He then said he was not going to be able to perform any of the tests. The officer asked him why and he said, “because I drank too much.”
He was arrested for DUI and searched. Officers found a bag of marijuana. He then provided a breath sample of .27 percent.
After the breath test the man became upset and uncooperative and started cussing the officers. On the way to the jail he urinated in the back seat of the patrol car.
One at the jail he was so uncooperative he had to be restrained for the strip search. He was charged with DUI .16 or greater.
