Each week, the Moultrie News and Mount Pleasant Recreation Department will feature local track and field athletes participating in the department.

Allison Kammer, 7, participates in the shot put and 1500-meter events with the Mount Pleasant Track Club. Savannah Kearney, 5, participates in the javelin, 1500-meter and 800-meter events with the club.

Question: If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be?

Allison Kammer: I would be a cupcake baker.

Savannah Kearney: Myself. I like being me.

Q: What is your favorite Mount Pleasant restaurant?

AK: Mustard Seed.

SK: Sushi Taro.

Q: What is the best moment in your athletic career?

AK: The best part was running the 1500-meter at the state meet in 7:38.

SK: The first time I ran the 1500-meter and did not stop.

Q: What is the best advice you have gotten from a coach?

AK: Just run faster.

SK: Try your hardest and work as a team.

Q: What do you look forward to the most about being an adult?

AK: Having my own children.

SK: Wearing high heels.

Q: What do you think are the most difficult and most fun aspects of track?

AK: The most difficult is the shot put. The most fun is traveling to different cities for meets.

SK: The most difficult is being one of the youngest on the team. The most fun aspects are the coaches and new friends I made.

Q: What is your movie and TV show?

AK: Movie: “Finding Nemo” and TV show: “Olympics.”

SK: Movie: “Beauty and The Beast” and TV Show: “Princess Sofia.”

Q: If you could have dinner with any three people who would you choose?

AK: Shawn Johnson (Olympic gymnast), Britt Nicole (singer) and Nile (from “One Direction”).

SK: My family, but it would have to be dinner with six.
