Charleston Kennel Club donate dog food to Animal Society

The members of the Charleston Kennel Club recently donated almost 500 pounds dog food to the Food Bank of the Charleston Animal Society. This donation will make a difference in the lives of fellow neighbors who are struggling to keep their beloved pets.

The Charleston Kennel Club is an all-breed club dedicated to the advancement, welfare and sport of the pure-bred dog, and a member club of the American Kennel Club. The member club designation are clubs at the highest level of AKC accreditation and number about 500. The Charleston Kennel Club was established in 1935, making it the oldest kennel club in South Carolina.

Charleston Animal Society is South Carolina’s most honored charity, whose mission has been the same for 139 years – preventing cruelty to animals. Every day the society combats cruelty by using innovative, scientifically-based strategies including a large-scale spay/neuter program, a free roaming cat initiative, educational outreach programs that teach our children to be humanitarians and a food bank for pets that helped 900 families last year. They also work with police, prosecutors and lawmakers to make sure animal cruelty laws are enforced and made stronger.
