Holzer named president of Palmetto Moon

Eric Holzer has been promoted to president of Palmetto Moon. Robert Webster, chairman and CEO of the eight store South Carolina retail chain, made the announcement. Holzer has been involved with the company since its inception in 2002. Over the past 10 years, he has held numerous leadership roles within the company, including overseeing the daily store operations of both the Mount Pleasant and Northwood’s Mall locations.

Within his current role as chief merchandising officer, Eric has responsibility for supervising purchasing, marketing initiatives, sales promotion and IT. This will continue to be a vital role he maintains for the growing Charleston-based company as president. A graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Finance, Holzer’s experience prior to joining Palmetto Moon included key finance and sales positions with Philips of North America.

Webster said, “Eric is an exceptional leader and a proven, multi-faceted team player. He’s held such a wide variety of roles in the company as we’ve grown from one store to eight and has performed beyond expectations with each responsibility.”

Palmetto Moon remains a privately held, family operated company founded by Karen and Robert Webster in 2002. Added Webster, “Eric is a talnted executive and we are thrilled he will lead the company’s day to day operations.”

Holzer said, “As a company, we are consistently fine-tuning our product offerings and expansion strategies to meet the growing demand in South Carolina for lifestyle products, collegiate apparel and gifts. That, combined with continued exceptional customer care is paramount to our future success.”

Holzer is currently in the process of overseeing his team’s development of the Palmetto Moon e-commerce online store with an anticipated launch in fall 2013.

“Our product assortment appeals to consumers throughout the country and we’re consistently receiving requests to open an online store,” Holzer added. “In a world of web-based purchases, it’s the natural next step for the company to increase our brand footprint across the state as well as the nation.”
