The Palmetto Moon store in Mount Pleasant Towne Centre will relocate in October to a larger, more prominent location within the center.
Robert Webster, chairman and CEO of Palmetto Moon, said construction for the new space is already underway.
Palmetto Moon’s Mount Pleasant Towne Centre relocation and expansion is a direct result of the Belk expansion announced on March 21.
At that time, Belk revealed plans to double its size, adding 30,000 square feet to its Towne Center location, which included the space currently occupied by Palmetto Moon.
Following Belk’s announcement, Palmetto Moon was given the opportunity to move its current Towne Centre store to a larger, more centralized and prominent location on Belk Drive adjacent to Belk’s main entrance. Construction has already begun on the new space that was previously occupied by three merchants - Wine Styles, Mrs. Capper’s Collectibles and Genealogy, all of which are relocating to other spaces in Towne Centre.
“As a result of the Belk expansion, we had an opportunity to add 25 percent more occupancy space in Towne Centre with this move,” Webster said in a news release. “We’ll be offering an increased assortment of our top gifts, brands and collegiate gear. We will be retaining our current management team and expanding our customer service to accommodate this larger space.
“We believe our new location will prove to be even more convenient for our customers, and we couldn’t be happier.”
Design plans for the new Palmetto Moon Towne Centre location include the debut of the newest prototype for the company.
Eric Holzer, president of Palmetto Moon said, “We are very excited about the new look for this store. It will include new visual merchandising that will enhance the shopping experience for our customers.
“When construction is completed in October, we will plan on moving our current Towne Center store to the new location and reopening the following morning. This will ensure that we are able to continue to serve our Mount Pleasant customers with no interruption.”
