Johnson Development Associates (www.johnsondevelopment.net) is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of its new Haven at Central Mount Pleasant (the “Haven”), which will soon be Mount Pleasant’s premiere address for apartment living. The Haven community will join MUSC Health East Cooper in the Central Mount Pleasant development. Central Mount Pleasant is being master planned and developed by Hassell Tract Associates, a joint venture between local firms McAlister Development and Greystar. Reader & Partners of Orlando, Fla., recently joined the team as project manager.
As a part of Central Mount Pleasant, residents will have unparalleled access to transportation choices in and around the town, including the newly completed Hungry Neck Road ramp off of I-526. Shopping at the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre and the commercial corridors along Highway 17 and Coleman Boulevard are also only minutes away. Within Central Mount Pleasant, the addition of 302 residences should further the goal of smart growth of pedestrian connections between this apartment community and the future commercial development of Central Mount Pleasant as well as an extensive trail system.
The Haven will feature luxurious finishes, including granite counter tops, gourmet kitchens, three-piece crown molding and screened porches. This will be the first elevator-served apartment community with enclosed, air-conditioned corridors in Mount Pleasant. The amenity package will include a gym-quality fitness center, internet café, resort pool and cabana, gastropub and virtual golf. The Haven will also be the first National Green Building Standard Green Certified community developed in Mount Pleasant.
Johnson Development is very pleased to be doing business again in its home state, and particularly in the Town of Mount Pleasant. “Mayor Swails, Town Council and the local residents have been very engaged and supportive in making the Haven at Central Mount Pleasant a reality, and we are grateful for their involvement, “ said Ben Graves, president of Johnson Development’s Multi-Family Division.
As part of the groundbreaking event, Johnson Development presented a check to the James B. Edwards School of Global Leadership to fund the outstanding costs for its new playground. Johnson Development and its founder, George Dean Johnson, Jr., have a long history in South Carolina of supporting the education, health and welfare of children in communities in which the company does business.
