Each week, the Moultrie News and Mount Pleasant Recreation Department will feature a local track and field athlete participating in the department.

Alan Muthard, 8, participates in the shot put, 1500-meter and 800-meter events with the Mount Pleasant Track Club.

Question: If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be?

Alan Muthard: An archeologist on a dig in Mexico.

Q: What is your favorite Mount Pleasant restaurant?

AM: Cracker Barrel.

Q: What is the best moment in your athletic career?

AM: Getting athlete of the week for Mount Pleasant Track Club.

Q: What is the best advice you have gotten from a coach?

AM: Getting a personal record is more important than getting first place.

Q: What do you look forward to the most about being an adult?

AM: Having a job I love, which means digging for dinosaur fossils.

Q: What do you think are the most difficult and most fun aspects of track?

AM: The most fun is being with my friends. The most difficult is running when I don’t feel well or feel like running.

Q: What is your movie and TV show?

AM: Movie: “Jurassic Park III” and TV show: “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

Q: If you could have dinner with any three people who would you choose?

AM: President Obama, my nanny and Super Mario.
