Join several Charleston-based educational experts and Seacoast Church for the College on Purpose Workshop on Saturday, Aug. 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
If you are a high school student or the parent of a high school student, mark your calendar for College on Purpose. This is a one-day informational, inspirational and practical workshop for parents and students that will equip them with the tools to successfully navigate the complexities of the college process. The workshop will address high school academics, college selection/admission, funding and career preparation. Participants will learn to identify and further develop their God-given gifts and match them with the appropriate institutions. They will learn how to conquer the ACT and the SAT and discover new ways to attack academics. They will understand how to negotiate tuition and pay for college without going broke. Finally, the workshop will empower participants to take advantage of opportunities that will optimize employment possibilities and accelerate their careers.
Student Ministry Leadership Coordinator Chris Petry said, “Our goal is to equip students and families with the resources needed to transition through milestones in life such as this. We’ve partnered with locally and nationally recognized experts in four major components of the college preparation process. We are very excited about this program.” Tim Jantzi of Jantzi Test Prep, one of the presenters, said, “I had the idea to do something like this 10 years ago, but we could never pull it off until we got together with Seacoast Church. This will save people an incredible amount of time, money and anguish because so much is being offered in one place at one time.”
The College on Purpose Workshop will be held at Seacoast Church Mount Pleasant Campus on Long Point Road. Lunch will be provided.
