Wando student participates in state pageant

Kensey Jones, a native of the Isle of Palms and a rising senior at Wando High School, is Miss Lowcountry Teen. She recently participated in the Miss South Carolina’s Outstanding Teen 2013. She got into the Top 17 out of 53 Teen contestants, and was voted first runner up from the People’s Choice Voting.

Jones’ platform is “Creating Unique Experiences for Children with Disabilities - It is Important to Make a Difference.”

This Pageant was part of the South Carolina Scholarship Organization - their 4 “S’s” are: Service, Scholarship, Success and Style.

The Miss America Organization is the world’s largest provider of scholarships for young women.
