Restaurants help raise funds and awareness for D2L

  • Monday, August 5, 2013

Darkness to Light (D2L) is a non-profit organization striving to reduce the incidence of child sexual abuse (CSA) by shifting the responsibility from children to adults. Its mission is to empower adults to prevent child sexual abuse. D2L’s funded programs raise awareness of the prevalence and consequences of child sexual abuse by educating adults about the steps they can take to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to the reality of CSA.

Currently, D2L’s development team is preparing for Augusts’ Join the Movement Mondays campaign. To date, 15 local restaurants have jumped on board with D2L’s mission and are committed to helping the group raise awareness and donate 10 percent of their overall proceeds. This provides a great opportunity for Mount Pleasant residents to support a crucial and worthwhile mission, while dining in the city’s finest establishments. Five Loaves Café, Sesame Burgers and Beer, Seppy’s Hotdogs and Graze are the Mount Pleasant restaurants involved in this year’s JTMM.
