Pet owners spend more than $50 billion annually keeping their pets healthy and well-fed, so the demand for skilled pet stylists is high.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics says employment of pet stylist workers is expected to grow 23 percent from 2010 to 2020, faster than the average for all occupations.

The Professional Pet Stylist course meets 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Aug. 19-Nov. 27, at TTC’s Mount Pleasant Campus.

The cost is $6,499, which includes a tool kit, textbooks and access to online materials.
