The Lowcountry Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will hold their monthly luncheon meeting on Thursday, Aug. 22 at noon at the Mount Pleasant Holiday Inn, 250 Johnnie Dodds Blvd. The price to attend the luncheon is $22 for AFP members and $32 for non-members. During the session on “The Next Wave of Philanthropy: Skills-Based Volunteerism,” Teresa Coles, partner at Riggs Partners, will discuss the growth of skills-based volunteerism as an emerging and engaging platform for corporate philanthropy. She’ll share newly-released data on the impact of providing professional pro bono services in addition to sharing compelling case studies surrounding this kind of employee volunteerism. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. The program begins at noon.
