Don’t miss last chance to dance this summer

  • Tuesday, August 13, 2013

It’s the last chance to dance on the pier. Celebrate the arrival of cool weather with some shag dancing at the Mount Pleasant Pier and the Folly Beach Fishing Pier. The year’s final Shaggin’ on the Cooper and Moonlight Mixer events are on the horizon.

Live music will fill the air at the Mount Pleasant Pier with local bands performing on Aug. 17 (Palmetto Soul) and Sept. 7 (Coastal Breeze Band) as the final acts in the Shaggin’ on the Cooper series.

At the Folly Beach Fishing Pier, DJ Jim Bowers will keep your feet moving with the hottest oldies and beach music at the Moonlight Mixers series. The final Moonlight Mixers will be held on Aug. 30 and Sept. 20.

Gates open at 7 p.m. for each event, and fees are $10 per person. Charleston County Residents may reserve a spot in advance for $8. Tickets are limited, so advance purchase is recommended. All ages are invited to let loose, breathe in the ocean breeze and dance the night away under the stars. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on-site at each of the piers for a separate charge.

For details or to purchase tickets, call 795-4386 or visit www.ccprc.com.
