Le Creuset, the world’s leading manufacturer of enameled cast iron cookware, welcomes Edward Lee, three-time James Beard Foundation Award finalist for Best Chef: Southeast for two special events in Charleston. On Thursday, Aug. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m., chef Lee will be conducting a cooking demonstration and tasting as part of the Guest Chef Series held at the Le Creuset Atelier at Ripley Point. Tickets for that event — which are limited and must be purchased in advance at http://guestchefseriesedwardlee.eventbrite.com — are $60 and include a signed copy of Edward Lee’s new book “Smoke & Pickles: Recipes and Stories from a New Southern Kitchen” (Artisan Books; Hardcover; $29.95). On Aug. 30 from 5 to 6 p.m., chef Lee will sign copies of “Smoke & Pickles” at a free event at the Le Creuset Signature Store at 241 King Street in downtown Charleston.

Edward Lee is the chef/owner of the restaurants 610 Magnolia and MilkWood in Louisville, Ky. He is an “Iron Chef America” winner who competed on “Top Chef: Texas” and is a writer who has contributed to Gastronomica, The Local Palate and Organic Gardening. In his first cookbook, “Smoke & Pickles,” Lee shares 130 recipes that mix the flavors and techniques of his Korean roots, his classical French training and his Louisville home. The book focuses on the drinks, snacks, main dishes, vegetables and desserts that chef Lee makes for his own friends and family and offers friendly, practical advice for home cooks.
