The Center for Women is having the second annual celebration in honor of Women’s Equality Day on Sunday, Aug. 25, the “Be Brave Bash.” The event takes place at Alhambra Hall from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and is open for anyone to attend.
Women’s Equality Day commemorates Aug. 26, 1920, when voting rights for women officially became part of the US constitution. This day marks a turning point in the history of the struggle for equal treatment of women and women’s rights.
“The ‘Be Brave Bash’ will be a fundraiser for the C4W to celebrate the brave women who came before us and all who still stand firm in helping others succeed. It’s what the C4W is all about- helping women succeed, everyday,” says Leigh Ann Garrett, public relations and events coordinator at the C4W.
This event will appeal to multi-generations and includes delicious food by Gourmet Bay Catering with an open wine bar. Plenty of activities will be found for adults and teens to keep you all busy while networking with other supporters. Activities include an Interactive art collage, photo booth, live music with Lindsey Holler and guests, silent auction and Bottles ‘n Brushes “Brush Bus” to paint your own wine glass or mini canvas to take home.
Tickets start at just $25 and there is a package deal for small or large groups, as well. There also will be “hosts” for this event with pre and post event recognition, for just a $100 donation. For more information on this event, to purchase tickets or donate to the silent auction, please see www.c4women.org/bebravebash.html or call 763-7333 ext 201. Find this event on Facebook too.
