A group of Charlestonian volunteers from the Medical University of South Carolina and the Church of the Holy Cross, a nurse from Indiana and a student from Utah, traveled this summer to the rural village of Okurase in Ghana, West Africa for a one week Village Health Outreach. The group worked with English and Ghanaian volunteers, local NGO’s and government agencies to provide health and education services to over 1,200 village residents. This photo was taken at Asaasi Yaa Beach Front Resort in Kokrobite, Ghana (www.asaasiyaa.com) on the beautiful Gulf of Guinea, a last stop before the flight back to the United States.
