The Player of the Week contest is back for a second high school football season. Just like last year, you'll be able to vote on standout players from the previous week's game.
This season, we're welcoming Palmetto Christian Academy into the mix. So, now you'll be able to choose between six players – two from Wando, two from Bishop England and two from Palmetto Christian – for who you think is most deserving of the title of Player of the Week.
The voting process remains the same. Reporter Tyler Heffernan chooses one player from each of the three teams and each team's respective head coach picks one player from his team.
You can only vote for one, and all voting is online at www.MoultrieNews.com/POTW. Every Wednesday, the newest set of nominations are announced in our print editions and our website. Voting is open until the following Monday at noon, which leaves about five days for voting.
Attention, local businesses, we're looking for a sponsor for this Player of the Week series. If you're interested in getting your name out in a big way, this is your ticket.
Your business's name will become synonymous with this newly-expanded contest supporting local athletes. Player of the Week is highlighted in print and online – including social media – throughout every week of the 11-week football season.
Last season, which was the first Player of the Week season, the online voting page was the most visited section on MoultrieNews.com. The total promotional value exceeds $12,000. We offer this at a 71 percent savings. Pay $3,500 for the entire campaign.
