Annual 5K race honors memory of Amanda Kalman

  • Wednesday, September 4, 2013

The Mount Pleasant Police Department Victims Services Division and National Council of Jewish Women are partnering to sponsor the annual Amanda Kalman 5K Run/Walk/Crossfit Competition.

It will be held at Mount Pleasant Waterfront Memorial Park on Sunday, Sept 22 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Amanda Kalman was a young woman who was murdered in her home in West Ashley two years ago on Sept. 8.

As the anniversary of her death approaches, these non-profit groups are busy planning a fun, family-friendly event for this year’s fundraiser.

There will be food vendors and live music from The Three Dudes.

All proceeds from the event support programs and services for domestic violence victims.
