Alyssondra Campaigne

Motivated by the desire to better serve her community, Alyssondra Campaigne is announcing her intention to run for election to the Mount Pleasant Waterworks Commission. “Mount Pleasant is a great place to raise a family and start a business. I want to use my education and experience to help keep it that way. Mount Pleasant Waterworks has been a leader in managing rapid growth and providing affordable, clean and safe water services. I will help the utility continue to innovate and demonstrate excellence while protecting ratepayers.”

Campaigne has a Masters Degree in Urban Planning and Public Policy with graduate and professional experience in water quality and management. As co-owner of a consulting firm, Engage Strategies, located in Mount Pleasant, she knows how to balance a budget and manage a growing, successful business. A parent of two children in Mount Pleasant’s public schools, she is also active in the community.

Campaigne is the past president of the Board at East Cooper Montessori Charter School and continues to serve as a volunteer for administrative initiatives. She is a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem, helping protect abused and neglected children. She was a board member of Charleston Moves, a local non-profit organization promoting bicycling, walking and public transportation, served from 2008-2010 on the See 2030 tricounty growth planning initiative, and served on the board of the I’On Trust.

In addition to board work, Campaigne volunteers with her children at Lowcountry Orphan Relief and regular creek and beach clean ups. She attended Wesleyan University in Connecticut and New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service, graduating from both schools with honors.

“I look forward to applying my educational expertise in urban planning and my practical business sense to help Mount Pleasant Waterworks preserve and protect our most valuable resources: land and water.”
