A poor guy just pursuing his supper. Your basic “wolf-meets-girl” story. So funny you’ll howl.
When Red’s beloved Granny takes ill, her Mother reluctantly allows Red to carry a basket of goodies to her house. Mother warns Red not to talk to strangers on the way, but she immediately meets up with a Wolf who is down on his luck and makes it his mission to discover where the little girl is going and what’s in that basket. Will Red make it Granny’s house without becoming the wolf’s supper?
Creative Spark showtimes for “Little Red Riding Hood” are Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. and Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. The performance is just under one hour.
SPROUTS Musical Theatre continues to be Charleston’s best kept secret as the only professional theatre company for audiences of children and families. This is not a group of children performing, but rather hand-picked, highly renowned professional adult actors in the Lowcountry that perform adaptations of original classic tales. SPROUTS musicals have been translated into six languages and each production is highly acclaimed with signature ballads & sing-a-longs, audience participation, uproarious chase scenes – and always a happy ending. The unique setting of absolutely no separation between the audience and the stage, along with a bulk of the audience snuggled on large carpets in the front provide the most super fun live musical theatre experience for ages 3 to 93.
SPROUTS is also pleased to be partnering with Threshold Repertory Theatre downtown this season. Threshold will be presenting “Little Red Riding Hood” the weekend of Oct. 5.
Tickets are $10 per person in advance or $12 at the door. Season tickets are also available (which include “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Beauty & the Beast” in December) for only $17 per person. For tickets, visit www.creativespark.org or call 843-881-3780. Creative Spark is located at 757 Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant.
