Vote to support Charleston entries in Pitch Challenge

  • Monday, September 23, 2013

Local YEScarolina students Evan Knox and Aquila Brown are competing in the 2013 NFTE OnlineElevator Pitch Challenge, presented by E*TRADE. Each student in the challenge has been asked to create a 60-second elevator pitch for his/her business in the form of a video. These videos have been uploaded to the NFTE website where students’ friends, family and supporters are encouraged to vote for their favorite presentation.

Voting for the video presentations began on Sept. 3 and ends on Sept. 30. The entrepreneur whose presentation receives the greatest number of unique votes (from the most individual email addresses) will be recognized on the night of the NFTE National Business PlanCompetition – Oct. 3 in New York City – with a $2,500 award. There will be two runner-up cash prizes of $500.

Evan Knox, a junior at Charleston Collegiate, finished first in the Mark Motley 2013 YEScarolina State Business Plan Competition. His business is Bullseye Web Designs, a website design company. Aquila Brown, who took third at the competition, is a junior at the Charleston Charter School for Math & Science. She started TruSol Art, a customized hand-drawn portrait service. Both students will also compete in the NFTE National Business Plan Challenge in NYC in October.

Please help support Charleston students and vote and share today.
