The South Carolina Nurses Foundation will host its fifth annual Nurses Care Walk Saturday, Nov. 2 at James Island County Park. Registration for the 2.8-mile walk will begin at 9 a.m.
Proceeds from the event will facilitate the SCNF’s major goal: improving the healthcare of South Carolinians by advancing the profession of nursing in the state.
Scores of Lowcountry nurses and nursing students are expected to participate in the walk, which raises money for nursing scholarships.
“The Nurses Care Walk is one of our big efforts for the year, and the influence of the dollars raised is exponential because of how much they help propel nursing education here,” said SCNF President Bernice Daugherty.
Last year the SCNF awarded more than $50,000 in scholarships via its Nurses Care and Palmetto Gold programs.
Pre-event registration forms and sponsorship information are available at www.scnursesfoundation.com or by contacting Daniel Brock at 843-991-1328 or email@example.com.
Donations and sponsorship forms must be received by Sept. 27 for inclusion in promotional materials. Nurses are encouraged to invite colleagues, family and friends to participate in the walk and donate.
A concurrent event will take place in Columbia. Onsite registration will be available the day of the event beginning at 9 a.m.
Be sure to visit the SCNF’s Facebook page (Facebook.com/SCNursesFoundation) and follow the foundation on Twitter at @SCNurses.
