Loss of Peacock network gives readers the blues
I don’t want to go commercial on you but let me put it this way, I have Dish and I love News 2 and NBC programming. I’ve called the station and Dish and each blames the other. I am so angry. Any insight? (In case anyone doesn’t know, you can’t get WCBD on Dish -- ahhhhh.)

Dear “My Peacock,” (very funny, but sad)
We, in our family, are in the same boat. It is especially frustrating missing programs with the new fall season and football season. I’ve gotten the same response when I have called. The best thing to do is make sure your complaints are heard and recorded. Then see if, for the time being, if you can use an HDTV antenna for local TV (should have it for emergencies, bad weather, when satellite goes down anyway.
The only bad thing is you can’t record that to your DVR. We are so spoiled these days, aren’t we. You can recap some shows through Hulu and other such sites, at a cost.
I just passed a billboard on I-26 that said “TV2 loves money more than its viewers.” It is a commercial business and the competition with Internet and all makes it tough for local stations to make a buck. I love the people at TV 2. We’re stuck with Dish because we choose to live in the woods.
Hang in there. There will be some resolution (which may cost us). Maybe it is a sign we need to walk the beach more, enjoy the Lowcountry with our families and friends and take a break from the “electronic drug” TV can be.
My husband carried our TV the curb the other night (and I had to run out and get it after he went to bed). He is so upset about the “Dish” -TV 2 issue and missing “The Voice” that he said he’d rather not watch TV at all. I told him he could watch via the Internet and he said, “it’s just not the same.”
He’s usually a sane, hardworking professional, great husband and father. I think he’s lost it. Help.
Crazy at our house
I’ve gotten more emails about this issue than any other since I started my column. Please see suggestions above. Maybe a larger computer monitor may help?? I’ll do more research before next week, until then, maybe something will happen to fix this.
