I can walk in the road cause there’s no traffic

An officer saw a 52-year -ld man staggering in the roadway on Highway 17 He went back and forth from the road to the highway. When a car approached he stuck out his thumb to catch a ride.

At this point the officer turned around and caught up with the man who was clearly intoxicated, according to a police report.

The man wouldn’t tell the officer where he lived or where he was coming from. He simply said he could walk in the road if he wanted to because no cars were coming.

He was arrested for public intoxication and taken to jail.
