Junior Girls Day Out Community Project is sponsoring a series of programs to help fight bullying and build self-esteem among girls, ages 6-12 years old.

These programs will help educate, empower and encourage young girls to achieve their goals in life regardless of the challenges they are faced with on a daily basis. The series of programs include the following: beauty queen mentoring sessions, after-school anti-bullying workshops, fashion shows, women and girls community projects, a girls choice awards event and more.

The first event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. at Northwoods Mall (Center Mall by Dilliard’s). Beauty queens will talk to girls about self-esteem, making the right choices and bullying. Girls and queens will also participate in a fashion show. This is a free event and parents are invited to please bring their girls. Planners will give away the following prizes: Disney cruises, trips to New York City fashion shows, Florida Kennedy Space Center lunch with astronauts, trips to Washington, D.C. and Hershey, Penn., etiquette and charm classes and more.

Parents who would like to register their girls for this program may visit the group’s website at www.juniorgirlsdayout.org or contact 843-608-8719. Event planners invite the public to also follow them on Twitter at JrGirlsDayOut and friend them on Facebook.
