Slow Food Charleston and Whole Foods presents fall film series

For the third year, Slow Food Charleston and Whole Foods Market will host a free fall film series for the public. The films in this series focus on real stories about food sources, from farmers to politicians and sustainability to scarcity. The line-up includes:

Grow!: Thursday, Oct. 10, 6:30 p.m., Dirthugger Farms, Cutter Drive, James Island

Eating Alabama: Thursday, Oct. 24, 7 p.m., Cinebarre, 963 Houston-Northcutt Blvd.

The Garden: Thursday, Nov. 7, 7 p.m., Cinebarre, 963 Houston-Northcutt Blvd.

A Sea Change: Sunday, Nov. 24, 6:30 p.m., Bowens Island, 1870 Bowens Island Rd.,

James Island

The first event, showing at Dirthugger Farms on James Island, will start at 6:30 p.m. and will feature a “Slowest Picnic” contest judged by local farmers and slow food advocates. While guests are encouraged to “Bring Your Own Picnic” (with some to share), wine will be provided by Grassroots Wine. The film will start at sundown.
