Poltergeists in the park: Halloween movie night at Wannamaker

  • Friday, October 11, 2013

Lowcountry residents are invited to grab a blanket and join Charleston County Parks for a free outdoor movie! The popular Wannamaker Movie Night series continues this fall with a special Halloween edition, coming up on Friday, Oct. 25.

Showing on the big screen outdoors in the park will be a favorite family-friendly Halloween film. For details on the movie title, visit www.ccprc.com. This animated spooky selection was chosen through online voting throughout the month of September.

For the safety of all visitors, the movie will begin at sunset (approximately 6:35 p.m.), well before the witching hour.

No outside food, alcohol or coolers will be permitted. Food and drink will be available for purchase on site. Pets are allowed at Wannamaker Movie Night, but must remain leashed at all times. Participants are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs for spreading out to watch the film.

Best of all, the movie is included with regular park admission fees of $1 per person, or free with the Charleston County Parks Gold Pass.

A great deal for the entire family, the Charleston County Parks Gold Pass gets up to 15 people per vehicle entry into eight county parks for an entire year. The Gold Pass is just $65 for residents of Charleston County, or $80 for non-residents.

For more information on Wannamaker Movie Night, call 843-795-4386 or visit www.ccprc.com.

Owned and managed by the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC), Wannamaker County Park is located at 8888 University Boulevard (Highway 78) in North Charleston and is also home to Whirlin’ Waters Adventure Waterpark.
