Each week, the Moultrie News and Mount Pleasant Recreation Department will feature local cross country athletes participating in the department.

Mark Richter, 10, and Tess Friedman, 8, both run with the Mount Pleasant Track Club.

Question: If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be?

Mark Richter: Steve Prefontaine.

Tess Friedman: I would love to be my sister, Emma.

Q: What is your favorite Mount Pleasant restaurant?

MR: Juanita Greenberg’s, I love the American tacos.

TF: Burton’s Grill.

Q: What is the best moment in your athletic career?

MR: When I won the co-conference championship in the 1500 last year when I still lived in California.

TF: Working my hardest to improve.

Q: What is the best advice you have gotten from a coach?

MR: My coach told me to open my stride when I go downhill.

TF: Do your best!

Q: What do you look forward to the most about being an adult?

MR: I will be able to run a marathon.

TF: I get to make my own choices.

Q: What do you think are the most difficult and most fun aspects of track?

MR: The most difficult is running uphill. The most fun part is running on trails.

TF: Most difficult: running up hills. Most fun: I get to see nature as I am running, instead of running on a track.

Q: What is your movie and TV show?

MR: My favorite movie is “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” My favorite TV show is “Braingames.”

TF: Favorite movie: “The Blind Side” and favorite TV show: “Kickin it!”

Q: If you could have dinner with any three people who would you choose?

MR: Neville Longbottom, Mr. Bean and Si Robertson.

TF: Jess (friend from Costa Rica), Aunt Kathy and Miranda Cosgrove.
