Clint Fisher, full-time trainer at CrossFit Mount Pleasant, recently attended the CrossFit Movement and Mobility trainer course. Held at Reebok CrossFit One in Canton, Mass., the course is a hands-on movement and theory-based workshop where coaches and athletes learn the principles of Kelly Starrett’s Movement and Mobility Method of resolving pain, preventing injury and optimizing athletic performance. Starrett is a coach, physical therapist, author of “Becoming a Supple Leopard,” speaker and creator of Mobilitywod.com.
Fisher, who also has his CrossFit Level 1 and Endurance certificates, works with athletes at CrossFit Mount Pleasant on mobility exercises and techniques to increase flexibility as well as prevent and rehabilitate common athletic injuries.
“All athletes can benefit from learning mobility techniques that will increase flexibility and ultimately make them better at CrossFit or other sports,” Fisher said. “In CrossFit, we’re asking our bodies to do a lot and we need to take good care of our muscles and joints so they can do what we need them to during a workout.”
