Owners of the popular Wine and Design franchise are banding together to hold a nationwide fundraising event for breast cancer. The studios’ Paint It Forward event will feature a two-hour painting session with a portion of the proceeds going to Susan G. Komen of the Lowcountry. The event will be held on Monday, Oct. 21 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at both Wine and Design West Ashley and Mount Pleasant studios.
Wine and Design is a popular business that began in Raleigh, N.C., in April 2010. The studio offers clients an easy and fun approach to painting and provides participants all they need for a fun night out: canvas, smock, paints, paintbrushes, and corkscrew. Attendees provide a beverage of his or her choosing and sit down for a two-hour painting session led by a local artist. Wine and Design West Ashley owner, Sarah Dubay and Wine and Design Mount Pleasant owner, Heather Speizman, said that they are excited about partnering with other franchise owners to help raise money for this cause.
“It’s hard to find someone who hasn’t been affected, either directly or indirectly, by cancer,” said Speizman. “Our studio is proud to be a part of this national event, and we encourage anyone who wants to make a positive difference in the fight against breast cancer to sign up and take part. Not only will you be supporting a vital cause, but you’ll also be doing something great for yourself.”
The cost for this event is $35 per person. To register, pick your local location and visit their website at wineanddesignus.com/WestAshley / 843-573-3422 or wineanddesignus.com/Mount Pleasant / 843-388-7857.
