Accordinig to the Mount Pleasant Police Department on Oct. 21 at approximately 7:11 a.m. Mount Pleasant Police Officers responded to the area of 1060 Grove Manor Court in reference to a Burglary in Progress call. Police Department spokesman Maj. Stan Gragg said that upon officers arrival it was discovered the victim had observed a subject in their garage in the process of burglarizing their home. “The suspect fled the area and patrolling officers were able to locate John Toler of 1162 Shoreside Way, Mount Pleasant and John Joseph Haeger of 1735 Walpole Way, Johns Island,” a statement said. Toler fit the description of the alleged burglar, according to Gragg’s statement
“The witness was able to positively identify Toler as the suspect she observed in her garage,” according to Gragg. Items recovered from Toler and Haeger along with the subsequent investigation linked the two along with Allison Marie Mast of 1162 Shoreside Way, Mount Pleasant and Bryan Earls of 1541 N. Pinebark Ln., Charleston to multiple crimes in the following neighborhoods of Mount Pleasant:
Runaway Bay Apartments
Planters Pointe Subdivision
The investigation is continuing, Gragg said.
Mast, born May 7, 1994 is charged with Breaking and Entering Auto (12 counts), Drug Possession (one count) and Larceny (one count).
Toler, born Sept. 1, 1992 is charged with Breaking and Entering Auto (12 counts), Drug Possession (one count), Larceny (one count), and Possession of a Handgun (one count).
Haeger, born April 16, 1970 is charged with Breaking and Entering Auto (12 counts), Drug Possession (one count) and Larceny (one count).
Earls, born July 21, 1982 is charged with Breaking and Entering (five counts) and Larceny (one count).
