On Oct. 9, Wal-Mart gave away more than $1,000 to Cario Middle School teachers at their after-school faculty meeting.

Twenty of the teachers received $50 Teacher Rewards Gift Cards that can be used to purchase classroom materials, snacks and anything else they need for the students to have a great school year. Also, Wal-Mart gave boxes of supplies to share with teachers and provided a wonderful cake and sodas.

Wal-Mart gives back to every local community where they are doing business, addressing the needs of the communities they serve. This year, Wal-Mart’s Teacher Rewards program provided up to 4.5 million dollars to 90,000 teachers across the United States.

Cario Faculty would like to take this opportunity to thank Sheryl Campbell, Rosie Key and Shawntay Richardson, who represented Wal-Mart, for acknowledging the dedication and sacrifice of our teachers here at Cario Middle School.

With these challenging times, Wal-Mart recognizes that the teachers of Cario Middle and other teachers across this country reach into their own pockets every day to give their students the best possible learning experiences they can.

Whether it is giving supplies to a student, a snack when students are hungry or a small gift to reward a great job, teachers go above and beyond to support their students.

Cario staff want to thank Wal-Mart for partnering with us in thanking our teachers.
