MPRD spotlight athletes
Each week, the Moultrie News and Mount Pleasant Recreation Department will feature local cross country athletes participating in the department.
Spiro Fokas, 10, Evan Daniels, 10 and Ella McElveen, 7, all run track with the Mount Pleasant Track Club.
Question: If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be?
Spiro Fokas: I would be Usain Bolt and run as fast as I could

Q.: What is your favorite Mount Pleasant restaurant?
SF: Mellow Mushroom
ED: Five Guys
EM: Wild Wings
Q.: What is the best moment in your athletic career?
SF: Finishing, it feels great
ED: When I cross the finish line and know that I did well.
EM: Coming in first for MPTC in Columbia Meet
Q.: What is the best advice you have gotten from a coach?
SF: Probably at the run-a-thon, I was struggling to breathe and the coach just said breathe.
ED: Drop your hands
EM: Run your fastest in the end of the race
Q.: What do you look forward to the most about being an adult?
SF: Definitely running a lot more and going to places around the world and just chill with my friends.
ED: The same thing that I do now, running.
EM: Having my own money
Q.: What do you think are the most difficult and most fun aspects of cross country?
SF.: I liked when we recently did fartlets.
ED: The most difficult is conditioning, but the most fun aspect is being able to run.
EM: Long runs/racing
Q.: What is your movie and TV show?
SF: Don’t know
ED: “The Internship” and I don’t watch TV that much, I’m running most of the time.
EM: “Titanic” and “Gravity Falls”
Q.: If you could have dinner with any three people who would you choose?
SF: My mom, Usain Bolt and Shawn White
ED: I would have dinner with Christophe Lemaitre, Race Imboden and my dad.
EM: Santa Claus, Mrs.Claus and my Elf.
