Police investigate shooting
On Oct. 30 at approximately 10:49 a.m. the Mount Pleasant Police Department received a call regarding shots being fired in the area of Dingle Road off of Hwy. 17. Upon arrival they located a green, 2001, Buick Century sedan at the end of Dingle Road and a black male victim, deceased, in the driver’s seat. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office was immediately notified due to the incident location being in the Sheriff’s Office’s jurisdiction. Witnesses say they saw three black males running from the scene. Two of the black males were described as being approximately 5’09” and 150 pounds; one wearing a red shirt with black shorts and the other wearing a green shirt and black shorts. The third male is described as being of a larger build than the other two and wearing a white shirt and tan shorts. Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit responded to the scene to aid in searching for the suspects and Mt. Pleasant K-9 officers conducted a search of the area as well.
