Fire technology

  • Thursday, October 31, 2013

In accordance with the Laing Middle School STEM Initiative, neighborhood firefighters from Fire Station No. 3 (“The Big House”) on Mathis Ferry Road, were invited Oct. 10 and Oct, 16 by Laing ELA teacher, Rhoda Benson, to come speak to the seventh graders on a STEM topic. The STEM topic this year for seventh grade is “How do advancements in technology improve the quality of life?” The firefighters gave an excellent presentation and discussion on fire technology and how its uses improve the quality of life for citizens every day. “Our firefighters are heroes in the community and we are thankful they partnered with us to educate our youth.” PHOTO PROVIDED
