Philanthropu/Volunteer Work My most current philanthropic work is with Junior Girls Day Out Community Project, an organization that provides education, career and personal enrichment programs for girls ages 6-12 years old. I also currently serve on the Rev. Dr. E.L. Jackson Scholarship Society’s Board of Directors which awards scholarships to deserving high school students.

Over the years, I have collaborated and volunteered with numerous community service organizations to provide assistance to those in need.

College of Charleston, University of South Carolina, Howard University (Radio Internship) and Medical University of South Carolina (Public Relations Internship).

Did you see yourself where you are today? Why?

Yes, I saw myself enjoying a successful career as a marketing and event planning professional. While in college, I had strong desires and participated in planning and marketing events for campus organizations.

How did you get to where you are today?

My personal relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ, has made the greatest impact with me being where I am today. Also, the examples and encouragement of my parents, along with my desire and determination to be successful have greatly attributed to me being where I am.

What is your life philosophy?

I believe that once people have a strong passion and make a decision that they are going to achieve their goals and destinies in life, they can do so in spite of circumstances.

What inspires you?

I am very inspired when I see people persevere and accomplish great things in spite of life circumstances.

Who is your mentor and why? Janice Bankston of Chicago, Ill., has consistently mentored me for numerous years. She believes in me, believes I can fulfill my destiny and has assisted me in attaining my life goals. Her wise counsel over the years has made a tremendous impact in so many areas of my life. I greatly admire her commitment, diligence and her heart of giving to others. She is truly an impeccable person.

Best advice you have ever been given?

One of the best advices I have ever been given is to learn how to “multi-task.”

What do you do to relax, hobbies? I enjoy dining out and eating various cuisines. I also enjoy being out on the water, singing, dancing, and doing cool things to celebrate other people.
