A young girl thinks that her dad can not discipline her, but after an argument in which police had to respond, she was quickly told she was wrong.
According to an incident report, the girl was having an argument with her mother over gas money. The step-dad walked in on the argument and told the girl to leave the room. She refused and said she didn’t have to. She told him he was not her father and he could not tell her what to do. In addition, she told him to leave the room since it was not his room.
However, that is the room he sleeps in at night with his wife, so actually it is his room.
In response to his stepdaughter’s bad behavior he went to her bedroom and retrieved her phone to take it away as punishment.
This did not sit too well with the teenage girl who threw a tantrum and broke a chair.
She was even more angry because her mother was taking her step-father’s side.
Her step-father left the house to buy cigarettes and let things cool down. When he returned, the step-daughter came dashing up to his car calling the most vulgar names in the book and banging on his window, daring him to get out. He refused, because the girl had obviously gone bat-crazy. Instead, he called police.
Officers who responded counseled the girl and reminded her that it was a crime to break property that does not belong to her.
She was reminded that her step-dad lives at the residence, has a right to go in any room he wants and has a right to discipline her. The girl admitted she has anger problems and “usually breaks things” when she is upset.
She was encouraged to stay in counseling and find another way to release her anger.
