All you local foodies, here’s the event you’ve been waiting for. Legare Farms Education Foundation will host the sixth annual Fall Harvest Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 3 starting with a “Meet the Farmer“ reception at 4 p.m. followed by dinner at 5 p.m. Dinner will be Legare Farms’ own beef, pork, eggs and fall vegetables prepared by some of Charleston’s finest chefs. This year’s chefs are: Chef Fred Neuville from Fat Hen Restaurant; Chef Jay Kees from Angel oak Restaurant; Chef Ricky Hacker from Evo Pizza; Chef Robin Rhea from Slather Brand Foods; Chef Frisco Thumbtzen from Muffullettas; Chef Micah Garrison from Middleton Place; Chef Jimmi Hat from Guerrila Cuisine; Chef Eva Kelly from The Warehouse; Chef Nate Whiting from Tristan; Chef Jason Ulak from Rivertowne Country Club; Chef Stuart Tracy from Butcher and Bee; and Chef Aaron Lemieux from 39 Rue de Jean. Beverages will be donated by Palmetto Brewery, Coastal Coffee Roaster, Holy City Brewery and Charleston Tea Plantation. All proceeds from this event go to Legare Farms’ Education Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit initiative whose mission is to help raise awareness and educate Lowcountry communities and school children on the agricultural history and heritage of this region and the need to maintain this heritage for future generations. Legare Farms is a family farm that has been continually operating since 1725. Linda, Helen and Thomas Legare are the ninth generation of Legares to farm on Johns Island.
Both the reception and dinner will be served under tents in the fields of the farm. Dress is casual.
