I’ll just sleep here

  • Saturday, November 2, 2013

An officer patrolling town came across a car parked in the drive-through lane of a fast food restaurant that was closed. He shined the spotlight on the car and saw the driver slumped over the steering wheel. The officer approached the vehicle to find a man with drool coming out of his mouth and onto his shirt. He was more than just fast asleep, according to a police report. The man was passed out.

In fact, the officer tried several times to wake the man by knocking on the window . When this didn’t work the officer opened the door and gently shook the man.

He regained consciousness but kept his eyes closed. The officer introduced himself and asked him if he was okay and what was going on. The driver responded in incoherent statements.

The driver finally opened his eyes, which were blood-shot and glazed-over, according to the report.

He looked at the officer in a confused manner and when asked what he had been doing, he said he was drinking at a nearby bar and had two beers.

He said he had only been in this location for about 20 minutes and it was only 20 after 11 p.m.

However it was 1:30 a.m.

The officer asked for his license and registration and the driver searched all over his car until remembering it was in his wallet which was in his pocket.

The man was not stable on his feet and smelled of booze. Because of those things and the fact that he was passed out at the wheel, he was arrested for drunkenness in public.
