WCIV-TV ABC News 4 today named BILL BURR a General Assignment Reporter. Burr will join ABC News 4 at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
“Bill has the respect of many viewers in our community,” said ABC News 4 News Director Cathy Hobbs. “With 20 years of experience in the news business, he will make our solid reporting staff even stronger.”

Burr has worked as a reporter and anchor at several highly rated tv stations including Myrtle Beach, SC, Austin, TX, and Greensboro/Winston-Salem, NC. During his time in television news BURR has covered everything from Hurricanes Floyd and Bonnie striking the South Carolina Coast to the nine Charleston firefighters who were killed in the Sofa Super Store fire. Burr has also received awards from the Radio and Television News Directors Association of the Carolinas, The Associated Press and the South Carolina Medical Association.
