The Mount Pleasant Artists Guild had their last regular meeting of the year on Nov. 4. Meetings are held at the Mount Pleasant Town Hall Council Chambers, located at 100 Ann Edwards Lane. The meetings begin with a social at 6:20 p.m., followed by the meeting in council chambers at 7 p.m.

Artwork created by MPAG members may be seen on display at Mount Pleasant Town Hall.

The guest speaker for the evening was artist and art teacher, Deborah Meyer. She gave a dynamic presentation, emphasizing the importance of values in a painting. She brought along one of her smaller, unfinished paintings and explained what needed to be done before it is finished. The presentation was followed by a question and answer period.

The Mount Pleasant Artists Guild will hold their annual Christmas party on Monday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m. at the Isle of Palms Exchange Club, 201 Palm Blvd. Members are encouraged, but not required, to bring new or used items in good condition for a Santa Shop and auction. All proceeds will go to the MPAG Scholarship Fund.

The next regular meeting is Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at Mount Pleasant Town Hall Council Chambers. Anyone with an interest in art is welcome to join. For more information, please visit the guild’s website at www.mtpleasantartistsguild.com or see the group on Facebook.
