Sweetgrass Properties announces that they are an official drop off location for the Local U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.
Christmas morning is no more than a fleeting dream for many Lowcountry children from low income families. This year, as in the past dozen years, a large number of them will wake up to a brand new toy, thanks to the Toys for Tots program. Toys for Tots, run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, has been collecting new toys and distributing them to children in need each Christmas since 1953. Last year the foundation gave away millions of dollars worth of toys nationwide; in the Lowcountry, more than 35,000 toys were collected and handed out to children throughout Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester counties.
“It’s so important that we as a community come together to change the life of a child this holiday season,” said Owner Leonard Bucci. “Toys for Tots is a great charity and it’s localized, so all the toys go directly to children in the Lowcountry.”
Donations will be accepted at Sweetgrass Properties’ two office locations until Dec. 18. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the Isle of Palms office at 1116 Palm Boulevard, Suite C, and the Kiawah office at 1001 Landfall Way. Donations will be accepted during business hours, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
