Each week, the Moultrie News and Mount Pleasant Recreation Department will feature local cross country athletes participating in the department.
Clyde Mauldin, 8, and Kelley Sanders, 12, both run with the Mount Pleasant Track Club.
Question: If you could be anyone for a day, who would you be?
Clyde Martin: Santa, because he is magic.
Kelley Sanders: The president.
Q: What is your favorite Mount Pleasant restaurant?
KS: Cracker Barrel
Q: What is the best moment of your athletic career?
CM: Being Athlete of the Week.
KS: Making it to regionals on my first time doing track.
Q: What is the best advice you have gotten from a coach?
CM: Don’t look back. Keep your eyes on the track.
KS: Surge the curves.
Q: What do you look forward to the most about being an adult?
CM: Having a car.
KS: Being able to have a house and any type of pet you want.
Q: What do you think are the most difficult and the most fun aspects of track?
CM: Most difficult is running the hills. Most fun is running with my friends.
KS: It’s mental, but when you cross the finish line you know you did well.
Q: What is your favorite movie and TV show?
KS: “Harry Potter” and “Full House.”
Q: If you could have dinner with any three people, who would you choose?
CM: President Obama, Santa and Coach Tami Dennis.
KS: President Obama, Usain Bolt and Taylor Swift.
