According to a police report, a man taken into custody for suspicious behavior ended up getting arrested for drugs possession.
An officer was patrolling Rifle Range Road and turned around to follow a suspicious vehicle. The driver suddenly turned into a driveway and flipped off the lights. The officer patrolled the area and noticed a man walking away from the car.
About that time dispatch got a call from a homeowner that said a strange car had just pulled into her driveway and the occupants got out and started walking away, leaving the car there.
The suspect that was stopped said the truck he was in broke down. He said the driver took of running in the other direction.
The report said the subject seemed very nervous and he kept putting his hands in his pockets.
He was asked if he would empty his pockets and he agreed. There were several cigarette butts a bottle of Adderall, and two pieces of a syringe.
He then admitted to shooting up cocaine with the syringe the other day but he hadn’t done anything like that recently.
Police arrested the man at this point for possession. As he was sitting in the back of the patrol car his cell phone kept going off. The same caller called about 8 times and then left about 5 text messages.
He said he was going to meet the caller in the Old Village but would not elaborate as to why.
According to the report, it was apparent to police he had been on his way to purchase drugs.
