Kobrovsky and Bulsiewicz, Jr. wed

Dr. and Mrs. William John Bulsiewicz, Jr

Valarie Sarah Kobrovsky and Dr. William John Bulsiewicz, Jr., were united in marriage on November 9, 2013, at the McClellanville United Methodist Church in McClellanville.

The Reverend Jimmy Harper officiated the ceremony at three o’clock in the afternoon. The ceremony included elements of both Judaism and Christianity, reflecting the bride’s mixed faith heritage. Ceremony music selections of Scottish-Irish music, reflecting the Scottish and Irish heritage of the bride and groom, were performed by Palmetto Strings.

A reception followed, held on the waterfront at Point Plantation in McClellanville,, the same location where the bride’s grandfather, the late Rev. J.O. McClellan, Jr., was born in 1910.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence C. Kobrovsky of Sullivan’s Island. She is the granddaughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. J.O. McClellan, Jr., of McClellanville and Mrs. Lillian Kobrovsky and the late Mr. Norman Kobrovsky of Allentown, Penn.

She is a graduate of the College of Charleston with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication.

She is a professional model represented by Directions USA, Caroline Gleason Miami and The Campbell Agency Dallas.

She was Miss South Carolina United States 2011.

The groom is the son of Ms. Noreen Johnson and Mr. William J. Bulsiewicz, Sr. of Burnt Hills, N.Y.

He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson of Maywood, N.J., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bulsiewicz of Rome, N.Y.

He received his Bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University, a Master’s degree from Northwestern University, and his Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University.

He trained in internal medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was Chief Medical Resident and “Intern of the Year.”

He is currently a Gastroenterology Fellow at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and will complete his training in June 2014.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Abigail Kobrovsky as maid of honor, with Crystal Goodrich, Kristin Burke and Leva Nowroozyani as bridesmaids.

The best men were Timothy Bulsiewicz and James Bulsiewicz, brothers of the groom, with Dr. Patrick Pickett and Ryan Daugherty as groomsmen.

Dr. Matthew Harinstein and Dr. Thomas Nealis served as ushers.

Cassie Gilliam, cousin of the bride, served as the flower girl. Christian Gilliam was the ring bearer.

A rehearsal dinner oyster roast, given by the groom’s mother, was held the evening before on the Isle of Palms.

After a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas, the couple is residing in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
