Nine South Carolina Independent School Association member-schools recently squared off for a single-elimination, four-person team competition of knowledge and skill.

At the completion of the all-day competition, SCISA Executive Director Larry Watt announced that the team from Palmetto Christian Academy took second-place at the 2013 South Carolina State High School Quiz Bowl.

James Walpole, Gabriel Butero, Mathew Sarsfeld, Jackson Pearce, Sam Iriart and Tyler Hoover made up the Palmetto Christian Academy team. Richard Cox sponsored the team.

Pinewood Preparatory School took first place. Wilson Hall School was third.

The SCISA Quiz Bowl is an academic question and answer game played between two teams of four players each. A moderator asks questions, and points are awarded to the team which is the first to signal and correctly answer within the time allowed.
