Dr. James Warner recently returned from Los Angeles, Calif., where he trained to treat gums recession without grafting. The Chao Pinhole Surgical Technique is a simple way to move receding gums back into place without grafting. Instead of cutting and transferring gum tissue, the new technique moves the gum tissue you have back into place.
The affected teeth are prepared, cleaned and numbed. A small entry point is made above the tooth or teeth to be treated. The gums are then gently guided down to the proper position. Collagen strips are then inserted through the entry point to hold your gums in place. The Pinhole Surgical Technique can address several teeth at one time with one entry point, unlike gum grafting.
Please contact Dr. James Warner at East Cooper Dental at 843-388-9894 or charlestondentistry.com to see if you are a candidate for the Pinhole Surgical Technique.
